Position Overview

A Legal Associate in the TMT (Technology, Media, and Telecommunications) practice at Luthra & Luthra is responsible for handling legal matters related to technology, media, and telecom sectors. The role involves drafting contracts, advising clients, ensuring regulatory compliance, and assisting in dispute resolution. This is a mid-level position for candidates with 2–4 years of post-qualification experience (PQE).

Key Responsibilities

Legal Advisory

Provide legal guidance to clients and internal teams on issues related to TMT laws.

Interpret relevant laws and regulations affecting clients in technology, media, and telecom.

Contract Drafting and Review

Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and legal documents.

Ensure contracts are legally sound and protect the client’s or firm’s interests.

Regulatory Compliance

Advise clients on compliance with laws and industry regulations in the TMT sector.

Monitor changes in laws and regulations that may impact clients’ businesses.

Dispute Resolution

Assist in managing disputes, arbitration, or litigation related to TMT matters.

Conduct legal research and prepare documents for hearings or negotiations.

Research & Analysis

Conduct in-depth research on legal issues and prepare opinions or reports.

Support senior associates and partners with legal strategy development.

Educational & Professional Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB); LLM or additional specialization in corporate or TMT law is an advantage.

Experience: 2–4 years of PQE in corporate law, preferably with exposure to TMT matters.

Additional qualifications (optional but beneficial): Company Secretary (CS) or certification in corporate compliance or regulatory affairs.

Reporting & Stakeholders

Reports To: Senior Associate or Partner in the TMT practice.

Works With: Other associates, partners, clients, and occasionally regulatory authorities.

Properly drafted, reviewed, and negotiated contracts.
