Legal Job | Advocate at AU Small Finance Bank

1. About the Role

This is a legal position at AU Small Finance Bank, primarily focused on recovery and litigation. The advocate will work on legal proceedings related to borrowers, particularly under the SARFAESI Act, which governs the recovery of non-performing assets in banks and financial institutions.

2. Key Responsibilities

Litigation Management

Handle end-to-end recovery litigation for non-performing loans.

Represent the bank in legal forums for possession, recovery, or dispute cases.

Draft and file petitions, appeals, counter-statements, and other legal documents.

Legal Documentation

Prepare Notices of Demand, Cease & Desist notices, MoUs, agreements, evidence submissions, and other legal documentation required for court or regulatory compliance.

Ensure all legal documents comply with applicable laws and internal guidelines.

Client & Stakeholder Interaction

Communicate with bank officials and other stakeholders to coordinate legal actions.

Advise the bank on legal risks and procedural matters related to asset recovery.

Independent Work

Manage multiple cases with minimal supervision.

Ensure timely filing of legal documents and follow-up on hearings.

3. Eligibility & Requirements

Educational Qualification:

Bachelor’s degree in Law (3-year or 5-year program).

Experience:

Minimum 2 years of experience in SARFAESI Act-related recovery matters.

Experience working in banks, NBFCs, or corporate legal departments is preferred.

Skills:

Strong legal drafting, research, and negotiation skills.

Good verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to handle multiple legal matters simultaneously.

Familiarity with court procedures and litigation processes.

Professional Standing:

Must be a registered advocate with a good track record of legal practice.
