Section 249 of the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, (BSA), 2023
It seems there's a misunderstanding again: the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023 (BSA)—India’s Evidence Act—only contains Sections 1–170. So Section 249 does not exist within BSA.
However, Section 249 does appear in the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (BNSS)—the criminal procedure code replacement. Under BNSS, Section 249 deals with the “opening of the prosecution’s case”, i.e., the formal commencement of arguments after the accused is brought before the court
