New Jersey Administrative Code Title - EXECUTIVE ORDERS

In the New Jersey Administrative Code, there is no specific Title solely named "Executive Orders." However, Executive Orders in New Jersey are official directives issued by the Governor and are not part of the Administrative Code itself. Instead, they are published separately, usually in the New Jersey Register and archived by:

The Office of the Governor

The New Jersey State Library

LexisNexis (for annotated legal research)

Rutgers Law Library (for historical Executive Orders)

How Executive Orders Are Treated in NJ Law:

Governor’s Executive Orders have legal force, particularly in matters of emergency management, government administration, and when authorized by statute.

They do not go through the Administrative Procedure Act (APA) rulemaking process.

They may influence administrative rules, but they are not codified within the NJAC.
